About Afton
I was born and raised in Central Nebraska on a farm. I dreamed of having a career that would be different every day and impactful to the people I worked with, all while being a creative outlet for me. Becoming a hairstylist was just the thing!
Post graduation from the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis I dove into the world of hair in the suburbs of Chicago and never looked back. I honed my craft by apprenticing under talented stylists and lived and breathed everything the industry had to offer. For my 8 years there I strived to never stop learning and perfect my skills to be the best I could. In 2012 I moved back to Nebraska settling in Lincoln this time and started working at the Pink Flamingo Salon. After 9 years there I was ready to open my own space and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you.
In my free time away from the salon you'll find me playing with my two mini dachshunds and attempting to landscape our soon to be beautiful yard all while listening to the latest true crime podcast or my newest download from Audible.
My desire for creating a great experience and to continue my ever growing knowledge of this fun and ever changing industry is as strong as ever! I believe there is always something new to learn and it might be exactly the thing YOUR hair needs!
